 The controller contains the following circuit blocks:

  • X and Y axis BLDC Controller (UPCX530 - please refer to my positioning controller project)
  • A 12V DC-DC converter for the FET drivers for the BLDC's
  • Z1,Z2,R1,R2 Stepper motor drivers (Toshiba TB6560AHQ)
  • A couple of logic level driver FET's for LED's, vibratory feeder, 2 solenoid valves for vacuum and pressure, vacuum pump and other extensions
  • Reporting the state of the vacuum sensor
  • USB-Interface (serial over USB)

The controller uses a Microchip PIC32MX440. It requires a power supply of 24V 320W and another 5V 4A power supply. The controller board is mounted below the machine bed. An external control box is also necessary. It contains the power supply, the vacuum pump and reservoir and a pressure reduction valve for the compressed air.
